She serves as the principal bassist for the Mobile Symphony Youth Orchestra and earned a top ranking in the Alabama All-State Honor Band, a feat unmatched in her school. Her exceptional skill placed her first chair in the 2025 Alabama District 7 Honor Band and the University of Mobile Honor Band. Notably, she was also a finalist in the Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall and was honored with the Bandman of the Year Award.

Beyond her musical achievements, Jalaan maintained a 3.9 GPA, graduated with honors, and was a member of the Blount High School Bowling Team. She is also skilled in a variety of instruments, including the violin, clarinet, tenor saxophone, bass clarinet, cymbals, trumpet, and marimba.

Jalaan’s future is just as promising. She plans to earn her doctorate in music and dreams of performing in a Broadway pit orchestra, bringing live music to captivating theatrical productions. Her personal motto, “Building My Dream To Live My Dream,” speaks volumes about her drive and vision.

Jalaan credits her mom, dad, and sister as her biggest supporters, stating, “They’ve helped shape my character, supported my music journey and pushed me to be the best version of myself.”
